About Judy
Prior to training as a celebrant, I had a long, successful and varied career in nursing and lecturing, speaking at conferences in the UK and the USA. I’m used to working ‘smart’, to deadlines and with clients to deliver a high-quality service.
I was a founding director of a very successful not-for-profit Social Enterprise. Being a company director and sub-contractor to the NHS gave me an amazing insight into running a business. The company was highly regarded.
I am creative and a natural storyteller who crafts ceremonies that encompass spirituality, laughter and tears together with any creative and spiritual elements that fit with your loved one.
Each celebration of life is tailored to the person who we’re celebrating. I have a passion for working with people, a quirky sense of humour and above all I care deeply that ‘what I do’ works for my clients and that they receive a high-quality service.
I’m a trained, certified Family and Funeral Celebrant and member of the Fellowship of Professional Celebrants; one of the most respected training providers and celebrant organisations in the UK. You’re assured that your ceremony will be conducted by a professional, supported by a respected fellowship of like-minded celebrants.

Everyone deserves a celebration
I work with our clients to create ceremonies that reflect the person whose life we are celebrating. No two funerals are the same; everyone’s life is celebrated to reflect their character, values and beliefs.
Moonstone creates relaxed, uplifting celebrations of life where you can choose the way we remember them.
People say that I am efficient, empathetic and a natural storyteller. They also comment that I am responsive, creative and compassionate; always sincere. My services include pathos, laughter and solemnity; all in good measure. I can see the big picture and can bring a story together with grace and compassion.
End of life ceremonies, modern or alternative funerals if you like, are creative ways of celebrating life and we at Moonstone just love ceremonies in pubs, cricket pavilions, village halls, woodland, back gardens and really anywhere you would like – with the landowner’s permission of course!
You may know that you have little time to live and you would like to have your funeral ceremony written whilst you are still with us. We can work together to write your story and create a script that you are happy with. We can chat about music, spiritual or religious elements, ways of memorialising them and so much more.
Together we will honour them with respect, compassion and gratitude.
Moonstone is committed to reducing its carbon footprint. I make conscious choices to be more sustainable in my energy use and emissions.
My approach to celebrancy
I’m a professional Independent Celebrant and I’m passionate about my celebrant practice. Just recently I was reflecting recently about what being a celebrant means to me. To do that, understanding my values, principles, and what I represent, are key to my celebrant practice.
