Bespoke ceremonies tailored to your requirements
Moonstone Ceremonies is run by Judy Wayman. Its ethos of ‘Your Ceremony Your Way’ comes from seeing too many people disappointed with traditional services. The wedding conducted in the register office that lacked the personal touch and didn’t feel like a ceremony or meet expectations; the funeral that seemed like a ‘cut and paste’ job lacking warmth, compassion and intimacy or the christening that didn’t quite meet your needs.
Our promise to you is to work with you, support and guide you to ensure that you get the ceremony you want. We know that rituals and rites of passage are important to everyone, whether it is welcoming someone into our lives with a baby naming ceremony, a celebration of marriage, renewal of vows or celebrating someone’s life and saying goodbye once it is over.
So if you want a ceremony that encompasses ritual, rites of passage and celebration rather than just another service – get in touch. We look forward to hearing from you.
Hello. My name is Judy and I would love to be your celebrant. As much as a ceremony is for you and about you or your loved one, you need to know a bit about me and my background to help you make your choice. I am creative, a good listener and very adaptable. I love working with people, have a quirky sense of humour and above all I care that what I do works for my clients and that they receive a high quality service.
I have had a varied career in nursing and lecturing. I started working with elderly people in hospital then qualified as a lecturer, working at the University of East Anglia (UEA). I developed and ran advanced practice courses and have spoken at conferences in the UK and the USA. I am used to working ‘smart’, to deadlines and with clients to deliver a high quality service.
Returning to practice, I was a Nurse Practitioner in the local Walk-in Centre before setting up a Social Enterprise, Horizon Health, with three colleagues. The company was rated ‘Green’ in the traffic light system of the Care Quality Commission (now Outstanding). Being a company director and sub-contractor to the NHS gave me an amazing insight into running a business. The company was highly regarded.
Whilst I still teach paramedics at UEA as an associate tutor when asked, I am also a Shaman and qualified Reiki II practitioner, working as a healer.
I collaborate with my husband Jeff Arden who is a Funeral Celebrant. I am a trained and certified Family Celebrant as well as a Funeral Celebrant with membership of the Fellowship of Professional Celebrants; one of the most respected training providers and celebrant organisations in the UK. It means that you have the assurance that your ceremony will be conducted by a professional who is supported by a respected fellowship of like-minded celebrants.
